Working in strategic roles across the public, private & not for profit sectors has made me an adaptable, efficient leader. I am at my best working on complex strategic agendas & I’m energised by building on ideas, taking them from inception to launch.
After obtaining my MA & M.Phil from the University of Cambridge, I started my career in consultancy (Accenture) which gave me a broad training in problem solving, analysis & strategic thinking.
At the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit (a performance management unit reporting directly to No.10]) I led “priority reviews” into the performance of the health care service for Blair’s administration, developing & solidifying my ability to lead high performance teams & drive change.
After the Blair/Brown transition I moved into the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit (PMSU) to help build out their health capability as a Senior Policy Manager.
In parallel I founded FutureReach, a social business, which works to make a difference to high-potential sixth form students from disadvantaged backgrounds – Deutsche Bank & Bank of America were Y1 clients & investment was secured from Big Issue Corporate Venturing.
When the Coalition Administration came to power, I was promoted “on loan” from PMSU to Deputy Director of the Digital team.
In this role I turned around an under-performing team, worked closely with Martha Lane Fox (founder of lastminute.com) and led a programme of digital culture change across government. I was selected to present at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government’s global conference on digital: Government 2.0.
I joined Lloyds Banking Group in 2011 to consolidate my leadership capabilities by working closely with the CXO level team. As Chief of Staff to the CEO of TSB, I worked as part of the team creating this new bank, carved out from LBG.
After building & launching TSB as a fully independent bank I transitioned back into RetainCo to lead work on customer & brand strategy.
